Flavour, Brymo, Yeka: Top three songs of the week

No. 1: Baby Oku by Flavour (this dude can only go higher)

N0. 2: Ara by Brymo (the voice that sold Ice Prince’s Oleku)

No. 3: Follow You by Yeka (the first Nigerian Idol is ready to shine)

Two of the songs on this list (Ara and Follow You) were produced by Jesse Jagz who also has a song out, Demo.

What’s wrong with Nigerian artistes?

Apparently, nothing!

There is nothing absolutely wrong with international collabos just that I am wondering who is gonna go there next and with who? And pray that is not something that becomes overdone and annoying in the long run… We tend to overdo and abuse things here. But enough of the negative, I AM LOVING IT meanwhile.

We had Tuface and R Kelly. Yeah, we know they didn’t meet face to face till Live 8 and that was like three years after that song (can’t remember its name and don’t know what it sounds like) came out.

Then we had D’Banj and his uncle Baba Aja (Snoop to you)

We even had Awilo Logomba and Terry G. Yep, that is international.

And if I can count that shey I should kuku count Tic-Tac and Tony Tetuila and all the others in-between. *HUGE GRIN*

So now it’s Darey and Chamillionnaire.  Can’t wait for the video. Listen to audio here.

As for vids, enjoy the latest (?) and the oldest (?)

This video brings back memories: Music Africa, Kennis Music “clan” and mehn, this was like the hottest video of its time that time (lol)

Living on a prayer

I loved this so much that I had to post it (well, it’s my blog) and that was after I had increased the number of views on YouTube with constant replay.

To know more about this group of kids, you can read this or go to their blog and their teacher’s Youtube channel for more. They were actually “discovered” by Perez Hilton.

They have met a bunch of Hollywood celebrities, sang with popular musicians and this year would performing at the Oscars.

They have a bunch of other videos on Youtube but I love this one in particular because of the little girl’s rather mature talent and soulfulness (that’s actually a word 0_0).

Find a video of the original song Bon Jovi song below.

Born this way

No matter how much she is starting to irritate me, I still love this hard beat and the message.

The Oleku videos debate

So yesterday, two friends were going at it over the two Oleku videos- Leak vs Original.

One said, “The Original is tight! Great quality”

The other, “Na the same thing jo! The same concept! Dem just pimp up Brymo!”

Having never watched either of the two videos but as original aproko concerned, I jumped in and was on the side of the other after just watching only the opening sequence of both videos.

So today, I sat down and did the right thing- really watched them- and…

I still agree with The Other. I seriously wish they had done away with the contortionist girl- in fact, with all the girls. I did prefer the opening sequence and up to 2 mins into the Original. As for the leak, they did well in claiming it as such and therefore withdrawing it. It was really that bad.

Okay see for yasef and talk ya own.

Another one for the Lovers

It’s just a few days to Valentine. Whether you have a date or not, enjoy this classic song (video) from Sir Paul McCartney and Wings.

I discovered a part of it in theclassic romantic movie Moulin Rouge. (in this video below)

Ikechukwu’s crappy video

I love this song. In fact, ehn, I cannot get enough of the song. Na those kind song wey I dey put for repeat.

But this video ehn! Seriously, Ikechukwu needs to be flogged.

Number One, the disclaimer already makes you suspicious. Then the two worse-than Nollywood actors in the middle of the video makes you start to put two and two together and ask funny questions: Shey, the one wey wear bones na D’Banj or Ikechukwu? The Oga wey wear Isi Agu is obviously meant to represent Don Jazzy, abi?

However, being someone that has little interest in such matters, I moved on to the local wrestling between Ikechukwu and the other dude. That scene reminds me of the bad pseudo-kungfu stunts that Jim Iyke used to pull in those days.

Ikechukwu should not fear. If this his latest solo project fails, he can get roles in Nollywood where he can fill in Jim Iyke’s bad kung-fu shoes!

Yeye dey smell! *long hiss*

Muna’s boobs

All I see are breasts.

This is Munachi Abii, arguably the hottest MBGN. She is now a rapster. Find her new single below. I gbadun the Nikki Minaj style. I hope she gets better and stays long on the rap scene. We need lots of femcees.

My songs of the moment

You know that one song that gets you rocking out for weeks till the next best song comes around? Here are mine (yep! I have got two!):
